Graphing Tool in Google Docs

This tool was suggested by another teacher as a great way to incorporated / create graphs in a Google Doc.  It is a Google Doc Add-on called "Yob."  Check out the video to see how it works...

To install this Add-on in your Google Doc, follow these simple steps:
  1. Open up the Google Doc you would like to create the graph in.
  2. Click on "Add-ons"
  3. Click on "Get Add-ons..."
  4. In the "Search Add-ons" box, type in Yob and press enter.
  5. Click on the blue "+ FREE" button.
  6. You will have to give it permission to access your Google Drive by clicking the blue "Allow" button.
  7. It will now appear in your "Add-ons" menu in your Google Doc.
You will only have to install this once. Yob will now appear in the "Add-ons" menu in all of your Google Docs.

Why Is This A Great Tool

Students can easily incorporate graphs into classroom assignments.  Instead of typing up their report and then turning in a graph separately, they can do it all in one place.

This tool can also help students visualize various types of numerical information whether they are solving a story problem or making predictions.
