Chrome Extensions
**Remember that Chrome Extensions need to be approved before students can install them on their Chromebooks. To get approval, complete this form at least 24 hours in advance of when you would like your students to use the extension.
1. Scrible (PDFs & websites)
This extensions allows users to annotate websites using notes and highlighters. Websites are stored in a library for future reference. There is share feature on the toolbar allowing students to share annotated websites with the teacher.
2. Notable (PDFs)
This extension connects easily with Google Drive allowing students to annotate PDFs that have been assigned through Google Classroom. Students can highlight, strike through, and add comments to the document. There is a share option in the tool bar that gives them a link that the students can share with the teacher.
3. DocHub (PDFs)
**This one has already been approved for high school students.
This app works well with Google Drive. Students must have the PDF in their Google Drive and then open it using Doc Hub. Doc Hub allows them to edit, highlight, and add comments to the PDF. Students can get a shareable link to share with teachers or turn in on Google Classroom.
4. Kami (PDFs)
Using this extension, students can annotate any pdf that is in their Google Drive. Students can highlight, comment, underline, etc. Like the other tools mentioned, students can share their annotated pdf with teachers.
5. Diigo Web Collector (PDFs & websites)
This extension allows you to highlight text and put post-it notes on a webpage or pdf that appear there no matter how many times you visit that webpage / pdf. All annotated material is saved in a library for easy access later. Here is a video explaining how to share these annotations with others.
