Tools for Simple Student-Created Videos

Why have students create videos?
Video has become a popular way for students to gather and share information. When students use video to share their learning they may be more engaged, using deeper learning, and are more engaged in their learning.

Tools Students Can Use
There are some great tools available for students to use to quickly and easily share a snapshot of their learning with you.
  • School Video Recorder
This is an app on student Chromebooks that allows a student to record themselves and then saves the recording in their Google Drive for easy sharing with teachers
  • Seesaw
Seesaw can be used on an iPad or a Chromebook.  Teachers need to create a class and then have their students enroll into the class.  Once that is done, each student has a Journal that they can add a view to.  This video can then be viewed by the teacher, parents if they are connected to the classroom, and possibly other students in the class.
  • Flipgrid
Teachers create a grid, add a topic to the grid, and share it with students.  Students then respond that the question through video.
