Increase Productivity: Chrome Extensions

Chrome extensions are little icons that appear in the upper right corner of your Chrome browser window.  These icons, when clicked on, can do a variety of actions that could make your life a little easier and a little more productive.

Here are a few Chrome extensions to check out:

Share to Classroom
Share to Classroom extension is a great way to quickly send any webpage or Google Drive file to your Google Classroom.

When you find something you want to share to your Google Classroom, click on the icon.  Then you will choose the class you want to share it with and then change the option to create an assignment, announcement, or question.  Here is a video demonstration

Talk & Comment Voice Notes
This extension is great for leaving feedback for students on their Google Docs.  Sometimes it is easier to explain your feedback by talking instead of writing it out.

When you want to leave a comment, you click the microphone on the right side of your screen.  It will record your comment and then give you a URL that you can share with students.

Fireshot
This extension allows you to easily take a screen capture.  You can capture your entire screen or only a portion of it.  Once the screen show is taken, you have several options of what to do with that screen shot:

The Great Suspender
This extension can help if you tend to have a lot of tabs open.  Having a many tabs open at once can cause your computer to run slow.  The Great Suspender will put tabs to "sleep" that are not being used.
