Digital storytelling is a great way for students to share the knowledge they have gained in class in a new and different way. There are a variety of ways to incorporate digital storytelling into your classroom. Have students practice their writing skills by writing a story and turning it into a published book. High school students can take what they have learned in class and create a children's book explaining the concepts. If your students are studying the ocean have them create books explaining the various things found in the ocean such as plant life and animal life.

Book Creator is great digital storytelling tool. This tool can be accessed by students on Chromebooks or iPads. Students are given options to create books such as research journals, comic books, instruction manuals, 'about me' books, etc. To create the books, students are given the options of adding text, images, videos, and sound clips.
Once the books are created and published, they can be shared with any one through a private link. This means that a book written by a student can easily be shared with his/her parents through a simple email home!
