Tech Tools to Support Math Instruction

Here are some great websites and Chrome apps/extensions to use in your classroom to support math instruction:

Websites

RtI Resources is a google site created by teachers in our district with great online resources for Tier 2 Math intervention.

Splash Math
This site is great for grade K to 5.  Games are organized by grade and topic.

Xtra Math
This site is great for grades 1 and up.  You can create a classroom for your students to join to see the work they are doing or students can create individual accounts.

Khan Academy
This is a great resource for grade K and up.  Khan Academy lessons include practice exercises and instructional videos.

Freckle Math
Freckle provides math exercises great from students in grades K to 9.  Once you create your online classroom, you can assign certain math standards to one or all of your students to practice at school or at home.

Prodigy
This tech tool is geared towards students in grades 1 to 8.  Create a class, share the code with students, and watch your students learn.

Chrome Apps & Extensions

Equatio
Allow students to insert math symbols/expressions and scientific formulas into Google Docs.

Geogebra Math App
Interactive app that provides tools for geometry, algebra, graphing, statistics and calculus.  Creations are easily saved in Google Drive.

Demos Graphing Calculator
This tool allows students to use/create graphs, variable sliders, points of interest, inequalities, etc.

Geoboard
This apps allows you to create shapes and segments using rubber bands.

Money Pieces
Allows students to work with virtual coins and bills.

** If your students are below 9th grade, they will not be able install extensions.  If you would like your students to be able to use extensions, complete this form and the Technology Department will unblock the extension so it can be downloaded.
