Google Jamboard App

Looking for a way to turn student Chromebooks into digital whiteboards?  Jamboard is a new Google App that allows students do just that.

Below is a great video explaining Jamboard that also gives great classroom ideas.

These whiteboards are called "Jams" and save right to a users Google Drive.  A teacher can also create a Jam and then assign it or share it through Google Classroom.

To find Jamboard, go to your Google Drive.  Click on "New" on the left side of the screen.  Click on "More" on the menu that appears and then you should see "Google Jamboard."

Ideas for the Classroom
  • Use Jams to display/present you lessons.  The Jam could be displayed on the whiteboard in your room and also on the student Chromebook making it easier for all students to view
  • Students could create a Jam that tells a story about a specific time in history or retells a story from a particular character's point of view
  • Create a Jam that is a graphic organizer and share it with students to complete
  • Share an image with students where students create speech bubbles to identify what the characters in the image are saying
  • Have students work out a math problem on the Jam.
